Rainy Summer Elopement in North Lake Tahoe

The beauty of the Sierra Nevada never ceases to amaze me. After our record breaking winter, I have been mesmerized daily by the little nuances of my home coming to life after such a long winter. Jenna and Jacob experienced this first-hand when they came all the way from St. Louis to elope under the pines of Lake Tahoe.

Despite an unusually rainy June, Jenna and Jacob seemed to have found their haven here – and as they stood atop a purple carpet in the woods as they were married in a private ceremony, all was right in the world. I have never seen the forest so colorful as it is this year. As a lifetime local, I’ve made it my goal to constantly seek out the beauty and details that I’ve never noticed before. I’m sure you can imagine the delight I’ve found in this spring & early summer as the world around me has awoken anew.

Jenna and Jacob’s elopement was one of beauty and elegance. They chose to elope, to celebrate their love in a way that truly represented them, and chase adventure out west. As their photographer, it was my job to capture this epic day and the memories they created. The rain only added to the romance and we embraced it all as part of their magical journey.

As a Lake Tahoe elopement photographer, I have seen many couples come here to celebrate their love. It is a place of wonder, magic, and romance, and I am continually grateful to be able to capture and create memories that will last a lifetime. Jenna and Jacob’s story is just one of many, but it’s one that stands out due to their boundless optimism and love for one another. Every single time I looked over at Jenna, her face was beaming. Knowing that our collective work brought the day to life so that the both of them could experience such joy is what fuels me.

It may be cliche, but they say a picture is worth a thousand words – and as a photographer, I couldn’t agree more. Through my lens, I was able to capture the essence of Jenna and Jacob’s love and the essence of Tahoe.

To sum it up – Jenna and Jacob’s elopement day was truly one of love and adventure. Lake Tahoe provided them with the perfect backdrop for their elopement, and despite the rain, we were able to create stunning portraits that will last a lifetime. I feel so privileged to have played a part in their journey to Tahoe and also, through it. It is my hope that their story serves as inspiration to others, to embrace the beauty of nature, the unexpected, and to appreciate the moments that truly matter.
