Your wedding went beautifully, and your photographer just sent you some amazing photos that were captured on one of the biggest days of your life! Now you’re probably asking yourself what to do with those photos. You might be thinking, “Are professional wedding albums worth it? Why would I need one of those?” Personally (and I may be bias, but hear me out!) I believe all couples should have a professional wedding album made for themselves. There are a lot of places you could order an “OK” wedding album from…but in this post, I’ll explain how a professional wedding album will be something you’ll treasure for the rest of your lives!
An album of you and your spouse might seem like an unnecessary investment, especially after investing in photography and other wedding day expenses. Your special moments are captured on camera, but that shouldn’t be the end of what you do with your photos. I know you value photography and want something to remember your day forever – so let’s talk about why a professional wedding album will be worth every cent!
When you put together an album with your photographer, you’re building an heirloom that will stay in your family for years and years. It’s one thing to have your pictures stashed on a USB drive somewhere, and it’s another to own a physical album you can flip through with your parents, grandparents, or other relatives. You probably won’t pass down your smartphone or login information to your grandchildren or great-grandchildren, right? And just imagine, what would be more amazing than sitting down with your own kids to show them how it all started? The album will truly be something to remember you and your spouse by, appreciated and handed down through generations.
Of course, you’ll love having digital copies of your photos. But PNGs and JPEGs aren’t indestructible. Over time, there’s always the possibility of file corruption, accidental deletion, or simply getting lost in the sea of other content on your computers and phones. And photographers like myself sadly can’t make the originals available forever. For these reasons, it’s incredibly smart to always have some physical copies of your photos alongside the digital ones. Owning a professional wedding album is like having an extra backup of your favorite moments. With the extremely rapid pace at which technology evolves, nothing digital can be guaranteed. Plus, when an album is physically out on a coffee table or bookshelf, you’ll be much more enticed to take a moment to enjoy it! Wouldn’t flipping through stills of your special day be the sweetest tradition to look forward to every year on your anniversary? I’m all for it.
Photographers Have Access to the Best Prints
Being a photographer means a lot more than just shooting and editing. We also have access to the absolute best prints possible! Professional albums use archival-quality ink and paper and are put together by highly experienced manufacturers. What does this mean for you and your spouse? You’ll get an album that stands the test of time! The pictures won’t fade, wear down, or tear even through years of love and handling. Plus, the colors will be 100% accurate to how your photographer intended. I promise you won’t get better physical pictures from any other source – whether it be your home printer or local Staples.
You might think it’ll be a bit of a chore putting together a wedding album, but you have nothing to worry about! Photographers like me have tons of experience designing wedding albums and I always love working with my clients to make their lives easier. We are the ones who capture the originals, so it’s a simple matter to arrange them in the most visually-pleasing way possible. Of course, if you feel up to tackling the design of the album yourself that’s always an option!! Just know I’m always here to take over if needed.
So, the question remains: should you order a professional wedding album? DEFINITELY! The moment you hold your beautiful book of wedding photos in your hand, you’ll know it was worth every penny. A well-made album will be a treasure in your family forever, and it won’t even take much work from you or your spouse! I have tons of happy clients who I’ve helped put together their very own professional wedding album. If you’re interested as well, contact me and we’ll get started!
